LEAPS OF JOY (working title), 2023

Decades ago at the beach in Senegal, I caught a glimpse of a sabar dancer with a tama drummer drumming under her hips. It electrified me. I felt compelled to return.
The film is my exploration of the sabar culture, its dancers and drummers and the joyful community it creates.
