Find the treasures of your female lineage
In the archetypal relationship between mother and daughter and mother and son, the feminine is formed and informed for future generations.
Latest research confirms that while the embryo is growing in the fluids of the mother, not only the organism grows. Subtle energy patterns are instilled in breath and tissue, transmitting information on a cellular level. In a society emphasizing masculine values, positive identification with the feminine needs nurturance and a deeper look with a discerned approach to find the treasures of the lineage. We use the three fold process I call Theater of One: Continuum movement, body based improvisation and Council. Open to the sensory body, we move to acknowledge, transform and embody our generational past and present it in ensemble performance. By doing so we contribute to reweaving the web of the feminine matrix and fertilize our relational intelligence. “The female is the source of genuine human compassion The most important connection on Earth is Mother. Not the mystical, spiritual Goddess mother, but ones own physical mother. She and our connection to her are the major source for compassion.” — His Holiness the Dalai Lama “Your workshops are a wonderful blend of intuition and structure. The work is extremely adaptable for all levels of body consciousness and performance experience. The most recent work I did with you on the Matrilineage Project has produced a subtle transformation in my perception of who I am. As a result, an archetype I have been working to bring into consciousness is finally present. Thank you for facilitating this process.” —Morna Watson, director Notes on the Matrilineage project
As the world is in chaos in so many places where dominance is the ruling game, women have initiated peace-oriented projects all over the map. Whatever field they have chosen for their activities, they are tending and connecting - in a compassionate environment. Access to these qualities is passed on through the mother line, the matrilineage. The Dalai Lama said in a recent public talk in Los Angeles that our relationship to our personal mother is the bases for our capacity for compassion and understanding. If goddess is a woman who has a relationship with the world as it really is - a cycle of abundant life of ever present death, joy and pain - (Silvia Perera), then we can truly step into that field with expanded capacity for exquisite relating and tending, from the baby’s bottom to the ecstasy of union and the great ailments of our aching earth. I propose to dive into this primordial entanglement, shedding light on our bloodlines with the fire of breath / movement/ creativity in a three-part process: Improvisation, Continuum Movement, Council, fleshed out with dreams and stories. Some material may be recorded on video. I am interested in doing this work in different cultures. In October of 2000, Dr. Marvin Spiegelman presented a lecture at the C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich. He spoke of the Virgin Mary’s various apparitions to children in France, Portugal and Yugoslavia. Spiegelman points out that Mary’s message to those to whom she appears has become increasingly insistent on our need to pray to her. He understands this is the urgent need to honor the feminine, not only within analytical psychology, but also in the world-at-large. Perhaps even more urgent now is to recognize the dark feminine, the Black Madonna or Dea Abscondita, whose intrinsically earthy nature has been left fallow and uncultivated for far too long. Her blood in my veins
